We're pleased to announce that we've just passed the 200 mark for Customer Tree Dedications!

New customers spending £500 or more at Green Woods Furniture automatically qualify for a Tree Dedication within the Forest of Avon Trust, helping to maintain and improve new woodland sites for public access and wildlife, as well as supporting the wonderful work of the Forest of Avon Trust.

Our environmental policies have always been at the forefront of what we do. To have passed the 200 mark already for Tree Dedications is absolutely fantastic and means that by buying from us, customers are having a positive effect on their local environment.

All of Green Woods Furniture’s furniture, beds and mattresses are handmade-to-measure in the UK, using materials from either sustainable or reclaimed sources and they have the biggest display range of Abaca organic mattresses in the UK.

Established in 2007, Green Woods Furniture is a store that’s currently bucking the downward trend for retailers at the moment and shows that a business following green policies can still be successful in these trying times.

We seem to have grown with each passing year and have certainly never been busier. A big part of what we do is creating made-to-measure pieces for customers, but they do appreciate our environmental polices, as well as the fact that we only use UK makers.

Spring Clearance Sale Now On!

Our annual Spring Clearance Sale begins on Saturday, March 12th and is scheduled to run for two weeks - sale items will include old stock, overstock, discontinued lines, etc, with discounts up to 50% and range from bed frames and chests to lamps and stove ecofans!

New in
We now have the new Marina range on show in the shop - a stunning oak collection of cabinets and tables handmade-to-measure in Hertfordshire. Full details will be appearing on our website soon.

Our mattress display range now includes the top of the range Raglan latex mattress - a luxurious, deeper feel mattress, with a full 20 year guarantee. As with all of our mattresses, the Raglan is handmade in South Wales and is certified organic by the Soil Association - with a price change due for April, there's never been a better time to buy!

We also have some new one off pieces by specialist makers on show, including a coffee/side table featuring a wonderful piece of London Plane tree timber, from one of the trees cut down for the Cabot Circus development and an intriguing coffee table from a new, Devon based designer.

New England Range Now in Store

Traditionally made in Nottinghamshire, the New England collection is made from solid pine, available in a range of waxes, but particularly suited to a painted finish.

The range also includes four beds; two sleigh beds, the Provence and, best seller, the Parisienne, plus the Vermont and Maine.

New pieces from this range are now on display in our Bristol showroom.

Hudson Tub Chair Now on Display

New in to the shop, the Hudson, a funky tub chair design from an established UK maker based in Salford.

Available in a range of high quality leathers (from the top 5% of hides) and fabrics (from Romo), the Hudson Tub is not to be confused with inferior, imported chairs from other stores.

We're pleased to announce a fantastic new range from an established maker based in Frome, less than 30 miles from our Bristol base.

Hemington 7 drawer chest (Oak)

Made from oak or pine, the Hemington Range is a stunning collection of bedroom furniture, with subtle joinery details and solid wood throughout.

Hemington Bedside (Oak - 2 plus shelf)

The Hemington range features dovetail joints on all drawers, with solid oak drawer bottoms, plus a uniquely jointed front frame with subtle mitre joints.

New in to our Bristol showroom, a selection of superbly crafted, Oak pieces from the Canterbury and Kensington Collections.

Featuring single piece drawer fronts and dovetail joints front and back, these superb ranges are beautifully made by a three generation, family firm, based in Hertfordshire.

The emphasis of both collections is on hand made quality. Generations of craftsmanship and experience are required during the selection of the timber in order to bring out the very best of the beautiful grain of the oak tree and with a choice of handles and finishes and specialist colour matching service, as well as made-to-measure, these beautifully made pieces represent excellent value for money.

We're pleased to announce the imminent arrival of two fantastic, high quality, Oak ranges, namely the Canterbury and Kensington Collections.

Both feature a high level of traditional, handmade craftsmanship, with dovetail joints front and back and solid, one piece drawer fronts.

It'll be around three or four weeks until our display items will be in place in the shop, but in the meantime we're offering a 10% introductory discount for any pre-orders.

Good to meet lots of new people interested in our sustainable products, including several who already knew of the shop from going past in Bristol.

6 Organic Mattresses Now On Display

We now have six different organic mattresses on display in our Bristol Showroom - this is the largest display of organic mattresses anywhere in the UK!

All of our mattresses are handmade by Abaca in South Wales and are, we believe, the finest and healthiest mattresses available.

Models on show include four Pocket Sprung mattresses and two Latex mattresses and all are certified organic by the Soil Association.

We're now able to supply the fantastic AURO range of natural paints and wood finishes direct to your home.

AURO decorating products are good for you and good for the environment.

AURO is a carbon neutral manufacturer of natural and eco paints and wood finishes and have always been totally committed and uncompromising in their environmental standards.

AURO do not use petrochemicals in their products and also ensure that natural raw materials come from environmentally managed sources and are produced using a sustainable ecological cycle. For example, much of the raw linseed oil used in their paints is organically grown close to the factory and any waste product and excess paint can be composted.

AURO paints are breathable and are based on natural ingredients and plant and mineral pigments.

The use of natural and plant based ingredients means that allergy sufferers and people who are chemically sensitive are more able to tolerate their products.

It did rain a little, but a great day out nonetheless and good to meet our local customers, both past and present.

We'll be at Redland Fair this Bank Holiday Monday (4th May), showcasing a Brentwood bed and Organic Pocket Sprung Abaca mattress.

We'll also be selling our popular Green Glass goblets, glasses and tumblers, made from recycled Grolsch, Sol, Corona and wine bottles, which are turned into funky drinking vessels.

The Fair starts at 1pm and runs until 4pm - hope to see you there!

Corridor through to the shop extension has now been plastered - we're hoping to have this decorated and finished, along with the fire place within the next two weeks.

Last Day of Sale

Last day of the Spring Clearout in the Green Woods Furniture shop today.

We're clearing space to make way for new ranges, such as the Newark Oak range and new reclaimed pine ranges, due to come in for display throughout April.

We've also managed to clear out some old discontinued stock, but still have a 4ft6 Double Newstead bed in solid oak with matching bedside on offer.
